The 3 Processes to Manage the Quality of Projects
Schwalbe seems to follow the definition of
PMBOK when he describes the three processes that are involved in project quality management:
- QUALITY PLANNING: the first process refers to the identification of relevant quality standards for specific projects, it also involves the planning of the project so as to meet the standards set.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE: the second process involves an evaluation of the overall performance of specific projects, which is needed to assure that the project will indeed meet the quality standards identified in the ‘quality planning’ process.
- QUALITY CONTROL: the third process involves the actual monitoring of project outcomes, so as to ensure that there is compliance with the quality standards and the project outcomes.
Overall, the 3 processes for project quality management together will maximize the probability that a project will meet the needs for which it was initially established.
