Qu'est-ce que le Résultat d'Exploitation (EBIT) ?

Le Revenus avant intérêt et impôt ou EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Tax) inclut toutes les rentabilités des exploitations, avant que l'intérêt et impôts sur le revenu soient déduits. Normalement, des rentabilités ineffectives et les charges ineffectives ne sont pas inclues dans l'EBIT. Le Revenus avant intérêt et impôt (EBIT) est une méthode traditionnelle de mesure qui n'inclut pas le coût du capital. Les autres appellations de l'EBIT sont le Résultat Opérationnel (Operating Profit) et le Résultat Economique.

La formule de l'EBIT est simple :

      Bénéfice d'Exploitation (EBIT)

L'avantage de l'EBIT est qu'il est facile à calculer et à constater au niveau des divisions et des sous-divisions de la société.

L'inconvénient de l'EBIT est qu'il n'inclut pas le coût du capital. Comparez avec VAE, CFROI et Marge économique, qui comprennent tous le coût du capital.

Au lieu du Résultat d'Exploitation, les termes de Résultat Opérationnel et de Résultat économique sont couramment employés.
