How Using Long Filenames will Revolutionize Data Management
🔥 Use long descriptive filenames… I do.
For Video… My app can use the filename (FN) to determine the part of the video I want to see. Without that feature you are scrolling through the video just like you would pictures.
The FN contains the start point, duration, speed, repeat, freeze and much more.
Any media player should implement this easy and smart use of filenames.
Long FNs are the overlooked jem in computing.

Pics of Each and Every Receipt, License, Govt Taxes, Tickets...
NOW I'm curating everything where I have a receipt, tax info, Govt paperwork. Anything that I may be interested in keeping.
I take a picture... And immediately give it a long filename... DONE.
The info is mine forever and ever... And at my fingertips.
Maybe the greatest curator of all time...

An Issue with Long File Names
Interesting and original idea.
One issue could be that people are unable or unwilling to spend some time to think (at the moment of saving their file) what are its descriptive elements.
Also, various tools like search engines are getting increasingly clever to understand the contents of any file type, even pictures and videos.

Anything is Better Than the 8 Character Limit Old File Names Had
My Spectate app uses the file name to find the file.
Then
If it is a pic show it
If it is a video play it
If it is a app start it.
If it is a text file display it
Just finding isn't enough.
