Integrating Social Media Into Business
I believe that social media power can be harnessed in order to benefit the organisation. All that needs to be preached is the manner it is used. In cutting edge and rapidly changing industries, it is better to have electronic meetings or short meetings and spend the rest of the time interacting electronically.
I believe banning or limiting social media is fighting the tide; organisations are better off harnessing its power as best as possible.

The Use of Social Media In Business I think fear is making people fight the unknown. Some managers may have a lack of knowledge about social media and take a defensive posture.
Social media have made communicating, collaborating and sharing within organisations efficient, cost effective and reliable and should be adopted where possible.
Like any new thing and change, there is the need for organisations to articulate a 'policy' from the outset to guide the usage of social media where the decision has been made to adopt it, so that it can not be abused and used by unscrupulous element to embarrass the organisation.
It is important to address these concerns before social media can be used in an organisation.
Fighting change never works, rather adapting to change works.
