Kurt Lewin's model of unfreezing, moving & refreezing would further reinforce the points put forward by Prahalad, Hamel & Dodgson above.
Single loop learning has managerial imperatives; Double loop learning has knowledge management and leadership imperatives, whereas Deutero learning has change management imperatives.

Change Model by Quinn & Weick The variation on Lewin's model by Quinn & Weick is based on the premises that change is the constant factor in organizations, so they suggest the model has to be: Freeze > Rebalance > Unfreeze.

Change Models Lewins and now Edgar Schein's change model do not account for dynamic changes and relapses... which are big possibilities in current times of rapid change...

Lewin's Model Lewin's model has recently lost some of its favour, as change is virtually constant. Nothing has a chance to freeze anymore.
