The relation between engagement, communication, innovation, and leadership style

My favorite topic (great question!) is the interrelations between all of the various aspects of the employee and customer experience. Achieving sustainable greatness requires a facility with the various elements of the organizational ecosystem. All too often, we treat only the parts (a la much of Western Medicine), rather than taking a more holistic view (at least in diagnosis). So many consults are hammers in search of a nail, toting 1 - 2 models, processes, and/or theories, that they do not attack root cause/opportunity. The result is reorganizations, training, team building, coaching, etc. that have little to no longer term positive impact on the business. So there's my thought starter... :)
