AACE's TCMF versus PMBOK Guide 2016
Paul D Giammalvo, Professor and Consultant, Indonesia

PMI's new PMBOK Guide 2016 is now mimicking AACE's TCMF...

For those of you who don't like AACE's TCMF, wait till you see PMI's PMBOK Guide 2016... PMI has adopted exactly the same ASSET based model that AACE has been advocating for years now...

In this tested and proven model, project management is nothing more than the DELIVERY method of choice to create, update, expand upon and eventually dispose of organizational assets.

This puts the project manager EXACTLY where he/she should be in most OWNER organizations- as a mid-level manager with little or no formal authority. Certainly no authority to make STRATEGIC decisions and even limited authority to make tactical decisions.

If one wants to be a project manager with any real authority, then one needs to get a job in a CONTRACTOR organization.
