Jeremy Lu, Manager, Australia

What are the 3 most important views in a room?
Mine - Let's face it. We all have egos, experiences and expectations. These drive our opinions and our perceptions of the problem We all walk into the room with our own view. Sharing this can contribute to the problem whilst forcing it out to everyone else can be alienating and destructive.
Yours - Listening and considering the views of others is all part of the process of team work and collaborative problem solving. Who knows? I may learn something, be inspired or be challenged. The idea here is to see new opinions and generate new ideas, whilst still looking for common ground.
Ours - Take the collective individual opinions of people in the group and all of the sudden, we can create a synergistic overview of the collective, capturing the wisdom of the crowd and reaching a point where we can consider the overall results from the group.
The use of technology can help manage this, and the process of removing GroupThink, reticence and dominating personalities are also strategies to help optimise performance.
The combined strategies of process, tool choice and technology can help to effectively capture the wisdom of the crowd and to help establish engagement and collective ownership of the problem and the solution. .
