Possible Issues of Linking HRM to Performance

Can high commitment HRM practice deliver performance improvement? Are there questions raised as to the proxies to be used in measuring the outcomes.

Just wondering if anyone in the house can shed more light on the subject. What are the basic criticism of a manager linking high commitment HRM practice to performance. I personally do know that HR practices to be considered in the strategy bundle raises some questions, what and what should be included and excluded in aligning theses bundles. Another view of mine takes the proxies or level of measurement of high commitment and high performance into cognizance. Would like to know what others think on the subject matter.
