As learning is a continuous process throughout the life of every individual, and as development is a vital and essential factor for achieving progress in any organization, it is the responsibility of that organization to plan the development of its employees and overcome the inconveniences created by the lack of proper training and experience in work.

A. Should Be:

- Fair to employees and associates
- A teacher
- Emotionally mature

- Respectful of himself and others
- Decisive
- An organizer
- Dependable, reliable
- A motivator
- Expressive in speech and in writing

- A leader

B. Should Know:

- The aims, principles and objectives of his company
- Company organization and his place in it.
- His own and related duties and responsibilities
- Company policies, practices and procedures
- Principles and methods of modern scientific management
- Company products, processes and markets
- Production planning, scheduling and control
- Cost requirements and control
- Quantity requirements and control
- Job, trade, technical and professional knowledge
- Professional (leadership) standards
- His own strengths and continuing development needs
- The art of creative thinking
- Principles and methods for achieving good human relations
- Selection and placement principles, tools and techniques
- Effective training methods
- Line and staff functions
- Communications
