EMR Implementation and Management
Christopher Smith, Member, Analyst, United States

Demonstrating appreciation of healthcare workers' preferences and proclivities toward their practice and their documentation of it goes far in facilitating the use of electronic medical records. As healthcare facility culture digests the IT implementation strategy it ate for breakfast, prospects loom for more effective ways for using health information technology meaningfully. Implementation teams with a more prominent presence of healthcare knowledge workers bring an ethic of greater dedication to the notion that the technology actually enhances the clinician's ability to achieve the goals of treatment, not merely the goals of managers, payors and accreditors. Functioning in the role of mediator between the clinical, managerial and information technological disciplines, I'm hoping to use my skills and resources to hasten the drive to improve the performance quality and efficiency of health care service delivery by some agency fortunate and far sighted enough to hire me.
