The next 20 years
Wilson Fyffe, Business Consultant, Singapore

The next 20 years may be very different to anything anyone has seen, a 15-year recession in an internet environment.

Our global challenge is to manage the satisfaction of our human needs within the constraints of our natural environment. On Easter Island, there were 10,000 inhabitants, but they did not understand government. See Sir David Attenborough's video : BBC / State of the Planet.

My research indicates that we need to improve our methods of anticipating future events, both controllable and uncontrollable. We have leadership in the 'Western' economies that has developed a complex set of industries and skills, capable of provinding a very high quality of life anywhere on the planet.
However, we do not have a good system of global government to ensure that the regional and other imbalances are managed so that individual regional populations and environments do not become stressed.
