Lean Training
Burt Jones, Member, Consultant, United States

In beginning to practice Lean Six Sigma techniques, it is imperative to understand Lean is not simply a set of tools, but rather about management, workers and the trust that binds the two.

Effective lean practitioners understand the essential importance of the human element and relationship building for attaining goals such as cost cutting, waste elimination, productivity, and quality improvement. Lean Sigma training should include participative leadership training that promotes the concepts of leaders at all leavels in the enterprise, collaborative teaming, team problem solving and cultural transformation. Any training organization that can provide an immersive learning experience in which participants work in a team-oriented environment and participate in hands-on, discovery learning exercises is a "plus". Its been proven that concepts participants learn in the classroom are quickly applied on the floor or in the office using this experiential learning experience.
