Maximazing profit should go hand in hand with Value Creation and Ethics

Kautilya’s management teachings: holistic approach.
Kautilya’s view on leadership is derived from a holistic point of view. His view is built on deeper human values that ameliorate the connection between citizens and their leaders.
According to Kautilya, a leader should study four branches of knowledge:
- philosophy
- ures
- economics
- politics
These four branches are the basics for training in spiritual welfare (dharma) and material wealth (artha), Kautilya states. In his monumental work “Arthashastra”, he talked about a combination of spiritual welfare and material wealth since one was not sustainable without the other. The essence of the Arthashastra, one can say is a framework for building wealth, welfare and wellbeing.
