THE MAIN ROLES OF PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT


Personnel management and human resource management seem to be used interchangably in most cases of administration. Actually there is no practical difference between human resource management and personnel management. The major roles of personnel department can include the followings: 1. managing organization structure and designs in terms of human resources 2. human resource planning and forecasting theneeds for recruitement 3. Selection and recruitement 4. Performance management 5. training and development 6. orientation and socialization of new employees 7. labour/industrial or union relation 8. financial management 9. administration human resource policies 10. managing diversity in the organization 11. information management 12. management of employment contract 13. managing salary and Age payments
