Successful and strategic planning starts in your mind
HELGA DAWN HENERY, Member, Manager, South Africa

"You are like a living magnet. What you attract into your life is in harmony with your dominant thoughts!" Quoted by Brian Tracy
Whether we like it not, we are what we think! To be strategic in the corporate world is determined by our thoughts:
1. Firstly my thoughts about myself.
2. Secondly my thoughts about the day.
3. Thirdly the thoughts about my task at hand.
4. Forthly my thoughts about the outcome of the task at hand!
Thoughts are the seeds of my words. Negative thoughts bear negative fruits - words, that become the actions in my daily life. To be able to plan strategically I need to find harmony in who I am. There is nothing wrong in thinking and feeling that you are a winner in every day of your corporate world and even outside of it. Harmony bears fruit of success and has a bearing on your planning. To plan strategically is to govern what I think and to be able to drag the process through the loop of successful speaking to successful doing. Without a good harmonized strategy, any given task or project will be a still born one. Another great person by the name of Tim Connor said: "Your key to freedom lies in your power to control your thoughts!"
Thoughts are touched by what you perceive in your daily walk. Perceiving loss and failure, will suffice in the reality of failure and loss. Who are you? Who am I? Where do I place myself within my strategic planning and how well was I prepared beforehand? To be able to plan strategically well, is to be able to strategize within a sphere of success and positiveness. An eagle plan strategically where he wants to go from the highest cliff. He plans his route, determines the height and the length of rise and fall of his fight, where he needs to turn and how far will he depend on the wind for his freefall. A good manager will plan like a eagle, in his/her mind first!
