4 аспекта выравнивания

1. Исполнение стратегии (Strategy execution). Этот аспект рассматривает бизнес стратегию как движущий фактор дизайна организации и логики IT инфраструктуры (классический, иерархический взгляд на стратегический менеджмент). Высшее исполнительное руководство формулирует стратегию; IT менеджмент только внедряет стратегию. [Стрелка 1]

2. Технологический потенциал (Technology potential). Этот аспект также рассматривает бизнес стратегию как движущий фактор. Однако он включает формулирование IT стратегии для того, чтобы поддержать выбранную бизнес стратегию и соответствущую спецификацию требуемых IT инфраструктуры и процессов. Высшее исполнительное руководство должно представить видение технологии для того, чтобы сформулировать логику IT стратегии, наилучшим образом поддерживающую выбранную бизнес стратегию. Роль IT менеджера состоит в роли архитектора технологии. Он эффективно конструирует и внедряет IT инфраструктуру, совместимую с внешним элементом IT стратегии (сферы деятельности, компетенции и система управления). [Стрелка 2]

3. Конкурентный потенциал (Competitive potential). Этот аспект выравнивания касается использования новых IT возможностей:

   • нового продукты и услуги (т.е. сферы деятельности бизнеса),
   • ключевые свойства стратегии (т.е. отличительных компетенции), также как
   • развитие новых форм отношений (т.е. системы управления бизнеса).

   В отличие от 2 предыдущих аспектов, которые рассматривали бизнес стратегию как данность (или как ограничение для организационного преобразования), эта перспектива позволяет модификацию бизнес стратегии посредством новых IT возможностей. Конкретная роль высшего исполнительного руководства в содействии успеху этого аспекта, когда оно формулирует то, как новые IT компетенции и функциональность, а также изменения закономерностей системы управления на IT рынке оказывают влияние на бизнес стратегию. Роль IT менеджера заключается в действии в качестве катализатора. Он определяет и интерпретирует тенденции в IT среде. Таким образом, он оказывает содействие менеджерам в понимании потенциальных возможностей и угроз в области IT. [Стрелка 3]

4. Уровень услуг (Service level). Этот аспект концентрируется на том, как построить IT организацию мирового класса в пределах организации. В этом аспекте роль бизнес стратегии косвенна. Этот аспект часто рассматривается как необходимый, но недостаточный для обеспечения эффективности IT ресурсов и реагирования на растущий и быстро меняющийся спрос конечных потребителей. Конкретная роль высшего исполнительного руководства как расстановщика приоритетов. Они решают то, каким образом должны будут размещенны ограниченные ресурсы в пределах организации и  IT рынка (с точки зрения совместных предприятий, лицензирования, инвестирования в собственный капитал  и т.д.). Роль IT менеджера состоит в бизнес лидерстве, с конкретными задачами обеспечить успех внутреннего бизнеса в рамках операционных ориентиров высшего исполнительного руководства. [Стрелка 4]
