Quatre perspectives d'alignement

1. Mise en oeuvre de la Stratégie. Cette perspective regarde la stratégie commerciale en tant que facteur causant le choix de la conception de l'organisation et de la logique de l'infrastructure du SI (la classique, vue hiérarchique du management stratégique). La Direction Générale (DG) formulent la stratégie ; La Direction Informatique est seulement le Maître d'oeuvre de la stratégie. [Flèche 1]

2. Potentiel de la technologie. Cette perspective regarde également la stratégie commerciale comme facteur. Cependant elle implique la formulation de la stratégie du SI pour aider la stratégie commerciale choisie et les spécifications correspondantes de l'infrastructure du SI et des processus. Les cadres dirigeants devraient fournir la vision de la technologie pour articuler la logique et les choix concernant la stratégie SI qui aiderait mieux la stratégie commerciale choisie. Le rôle du Directeur DOSI devraient être celui de l'architecte de la technologie. Il conçoit et met en oeuvre de manière efficiente et efficacement l'infrastructure SI nécessaire qui est conforme au composant externe de la stratégie SI (périmètre, compétences et gouvernance d'entreprise). 3. Potentiel concurrentiel. Cette perspective d'alignement est concernée par l'exploitation des possibilités technologiques émergentes :

   • Impact les nouveaux produits et services (c.-à-d. le périmètre d'activités),
   • Influence les attributs principaux de la stratégie (c.-à-d. les compétences distinctives), aussi bien que
   • Développe de nouvelles formes de relations (c.-à-d. la gouvernance des activités commerciales).

   À la différence des deux perspectives précédentes, qui considèrent la stratégie commerciale comme donnée (ou comme contrainte pour la transformation de l'organisation), cette perspective permet la modification de la stratégie commerciale par l'intermédiaire des possibilités technologiques émergentes. Le rôle spécifique de la Direction Générale pour aider cette perspective à réussir est celui du visionnaire des activités, qui articule comment les compétences et fonctionnalité émergeant du SI aussi bien que changer le modèle de gouvernance d'entreprise sur le marché des SI affecterait la stratégie commerciale. Le rôle du Directeur de la DOSI est d'agir en tant que catalyseur. Il identifie et interprète les tendances de l'environnement SI. De cette manière il aide les directeurs d'activités à comprendre les opportunités et les menaces potentielles de la perspective des SI. [Flèche 3]

4. Niveau de service. Cette perspective d'alignement se focalise sur la façon de construire une organisation SI de classe mondiale dans une entreprise. Dans cette perspective, le rôle de la stratégie commerciale est indirect. Cette perspective est souvent regardée comme étant nécessaire, mais pas suffisante, pour assurer l'utilisation efficace des ressources du SI et rester sensible à la croissance et aux demandes de changement rapide de la population des utilisateurs. Le rôle spécifique de la Direction Générale pour faire réussir cette perspective est celui de fixer les priorités. Ils décident comment les ressources rares devraient être allouées, à la fois dans l'organisation et sur le marché des SI (en termes de joint-venture, licence, investissements minoritaires d'actions, etc.). Le rôle du Directeur de la DOSI est un rôle de leadership d'affaires, avec les tâches spécifiques de s'assurer que le métier interne réussisse dans le cadre des directives de la Direction Générale.
