Peter Drucker - Gestion Par Objectifs Qu'est-ce que la Gestion Par Objectifs ? Description

La GPO (Gestion par Objectifs ) ou MBO (Management by Objectives) se fonde sur l'attribution à chaque employé d'objectifs pour ensuite les comparer et guider leur performance par rapport aux objectifs qui leurs ont été assignés. Elle vise à accroître la performance de l'organisation en croisant les buts organisationnels avec les objectifs des collaborateurs dans toute l'organisation. Dans le meilleur des cas, les employés reçoivent une forte stimulation pour fixer leurs objectifs, les fenêtres de temps pour leur réalisation, etc.
Le MBO inclut la traçabilité continue des processus et feedback de fournir pour atteindre les objectifs.


Peter Drucker

La Gestion Par Objectifs a été décrite pour la première fois par Peter Drucker en 1954 dans son livre « La Pratique du Management ». Selon P. Drucker les dirigeants devraient éviter « le piège de l'activité », étant tellement impliqué dans leurs activités quotidiennes ils en oublient leur objectif principal ou but. L'un des concepts de la GPO était qu'au lieu de juste quelque cadres dirigeants, tous les directeurs d'une société devraient participer au processus de planification stratégique, afin d'améliorer la mise en oeuvre du plan. Un autre concept de la Gestion par Objectifs est, que les directeurs devraient mettre en oeuvre une gamme de systèmes de performance, conçus pour aider l'organisation à bien fonctionner. Clairement, la Gestion par Objectifs peut être vu comme le prédécesseur de la Gestion Basée sur la Valeur.


Les Principes de la Gestion par Objectifs

  • Cascade des buts et des objectifs de l'organisation,

  • Objectifs spécifiques pour chaque membre,

  • Prise de décision participative,

  • Période de temps définie, et

  • Évaluation des performances et restitution du feedback.

La Gestion par Objectifs a également introduit la méthode SMART pour vérifier la validité des objectifs, qui devraient être "SMART" (Intelligents) :

  • Spécifique

  • Mesurable

  • Atteignable

  • Réaliste, et

  • Temporel.

Dans les années 90, Peter Drucker a mis en perspective la signification de cette méthode de management de l'organisation, quand il a dit : « C'est juste un autre outil. Ce n'est pas le grand remède pour l'inefficacité du Management… La Gestion par Objectifs fonctionne si vous connaissez les objectifs, 90% du temps vous ne les connaissez pas. »
