Qu'est-ce que le Six Sigma ? Description
Six Sigma est une méthodologie de gestion de la qualité qui fournit aux entreprises les outils pour améliorer l'aptitude de leurs processus d'activité. Cette hausse dans la performance et diminution de variation de processus mènent à la réduction de défaut et à l'amélioration des résultats, du moral du personnel et de la qualité du produit. C'est une mesure de la qualité et un programme d'amélioration qui a été développé par Mikel Harry et Motorola. Il se focalise sur le contrôle d'un processus jusqu'au point du sigma six (écarts type) d'une ligne centrale, ou 3.4 défauts par million d'articles. Il inclut l'identification des facteurs qui sont critiques pour la qualité comme déterminés par le client. Il réduit la variation de processus et l'amélioration des aptitudes , accroît les systèmes de stabilité et de conception pour aider le but du sigma six.

Le modèle Six Sigma est une approche fortement disciplinée qui peut aider les entreprises à se concentrer sur développer et fournir des produits et les services presque parfaits. Il est basé sur le travail statistique de Joseph Juran, d'origine Roumaine, un pionnier de la gestion de la qualité aux Etats-Unis. Le mot « sigma » est un signe grec utilisé pour un terme statistique qui mesure à quelle distance un processus donné dévie de la perfection (écart type). Si le nombre de sigma est plus élevé, vous êtes plus près de la perfection. Un sigma n'est pas très bon ; le sigma six est défini par seulement 3.4 défauts par million. L'idée centrale derrière le Six Sigma est que si vous pouvez mesurer combien de « défauts » vous ayez dans un processus, vous pouvez systématiquement définir comment vous pouvez les éliminer. Ainsi vous pouvez presque atteindre le « zéro défaut ».
L'origine japonaise de Six Sigma peut encore être vue par le système des « ceintures » qu'il utilise. Si vous êtes nouveau dans le Six Sigma et vous allez suivre une formation de base, vous obtenez une ceinture verte comme au Judo ou Karaté. N'importe qui, qui a une responsabilité de leader Six Sigma d'une équipe s'appelle une ceinture noire. Enfin il y a un groupe spécial d'élite appelé les Master ceintures Noires qui supervisent les ceintures noirs.
Cinq Étapes dans le Six Sigma. Processus
Typiquement, le Six Sigma est un processus qui a les cinq étapes suivantes :
- Définition. La première phase dans le projet Six Sigma est de clarifier le problème et de rétrécir son périmètre de telle manière que des buts mesurables puissent être réalisés au bout de quelques mois. Alors une équipe est rassemblée pour examiner le processus en détail, pour suggérer des améliorations, et pour mettre en oeuvre ces recommandations. Dans le monde de la fabrication, les chefs de projet et leurs parraineurs commencent typiquement en définissant ce qui constitue un défaut et établissent alors un ensemble d'objectifs conçus pour réduire l'occurrence de tels défauts.
- Mesure. Dans la deuxième phase Six Sigma d'un projet, l'équipe recueille des données et les prépare pour une analyse de haut niveau.
- Analyse. Ne fois que le processus a été tracé et documenté, et que la qualité des données supports rigides (hard supporting data ) a été vérifiée, l'équipe Six Sigma peut commencer l'analyse. Les membres de l'équipe commencent habituellement par identifier les raisons pour lesquelles les personnes n'agissent pas de la façon nécessaire, ou en identifiant les raisons pour lesquelles les personnes n'assurent pas un contrôle efficace à chaque étape.
- Amélioration. Recommandez, décidez et mettez en oeuvre les améliorations.
- Contrôle. À l'étape finale d'un projet Six Sigma, l'équipe crée des contrôles. Ceux-ci permettent à l'entreprise de maintenir et prolonger les améliorations.
