OPM3는 무엇인가? 기술

OPM3는 "Organizational Project Management Maturity Mode"의 약어이다. 조직은 OPM3를 사용하여 조직의 성숙도를 평가할 수 있다. 조직은 정의된 능력으로 구축된 조직내의 약 600여개의 베스트 프랙티스 존재여부를 분석하여 평가를 한다. OPM3는 다음의 3가지 영역에 대한 4단계의 성숙도로 나눠져있다.

1. 프로젝트.
2. 프로그램.
3. 포트폴리오.

조직의 프로젝트관리에 있어서 베스트 프랙티스를 구성하는 것에 대한 지식을 갖춘 후에, 조직의 프로젝트관리에 대한 현재의 성숙도 평가를 수행할 수 있다. 평가 후에 베스트 프랙티스와 정의된 능력에 대한 디렉토리를 사용하여 개선을 위한 경로를 정의할 수 있다.
 

OPM3의 유래. 역사

OPM3는 PMI(Project Management Institute)에 의해 개발되었다. PMI는 조직이 (멀티)프로젝트의 실행을 통하여 조직의 전략을 실행하는 능력을 개선시키는데 도움이 되는 표준의 필요성을 인식하였다. 프로젝트관리 지식체계(PMBOK, Project Management Body of Knowledge)는 단일 프로젝트를 관리하는데 초점을 맞춘 것이다.
30개국 이상 800여명이 넘는 프로젝트 매니저들이 5년간의 개발 끝에 OPM3의 초판이 2003년 12월 발간되었다.

OPM3 요소

OPM3 모델은 3가지 요소를 포함한다 :

• 지식,
• 평가,
• 개선.

OPM3의 활용. 응용

OPM3는 측정가능한(scalable) 일반모델이며, 규모가 다른 영리/비영리 조직과 산업, 지역별로 적용할 수 있다. 조직은 부서, 사업부문 등에 적용할 수 있다.
 

OPM3 단계. 프로세스

1. 조직의 프로젝트관리에 있어서 베스트 프랙티스를 구성하는 것에 대한 지식을 갖춘다.
2. 조직내 현재 프로젝트 관리의 성숙도 수준의 평가.
3. 조직내 현재 프로젝트 관리의 성숙도와 베스트 프랙티스에 대한 지식에 기초하여 지속적인 개선을 위한 경로 확인.

OPM3의 강점. 이점

OPM3는 프로젝트 관리와 관련된 첫번째 모델로서, 모델을 통하여 프로젝트 관리, 프로그램 관리, 포트폴리오 관리의 베스트 프랙티스를 묘사한다. OPM3는 프로젝트 관리와 관련하여 국제적으로 받아들여지고 있는 PMBOK과 함께 체계화되어 있다.
 

OPM3의 가정. 조건

OPM3는 프로젝트, 프로그램 그리고 포트폴리오를 관리하는 조직의 능력과, 전략을 실행하는데 있어 조직의 효과성간의 분명한 상관관계에 초점을 맞추고 있다.
