PM is een strategische managementaanpak voor het volgen†van hoe goed een bedrijf†presteert. Het beschrijft de methodologieŽn, meetsystemen, processen, systemen en software die voor het volgen†en het managen van de bedrijfsprestatie van een onderneming worden gebruikt. Business Performance Management, Strategic Performance Management,†Enterprise Performance Management en Corporate Performance Management zijn allemaal variaties van de terminologie. Verwar dit onderwerp niet met performance management van werknemers.
