SECI 모형 Nonaka Takeuchi SECI 모델이란 무엇인가? 기술

Ikujiro Nonaka와 Hirotaka Takeuchi는 지식 창조의 역동적인 본질을 이해하고 그런 과정을 효과적으로 다루는 지식창조 프로세스의 모델을 제안하였다 : SECI 모델은 3가지 요소로 구성되어 있다:

  1. 지식창조 프로세스(SECI) 모델
  2. 지식창출 플랫폼(Ba)
  3. 지식자산(Knowledge Assets)

이 3가지 구성요소들은 상호 유기적이고 역동적으로 상호작용한다. 조직의 지식자산은 지식창출 플랫폼(Ba)으로 모이고 공유된다. 지식창출 플랫폼은 개인이 보유하고 있는 지식이 다음과 같은 요인들을 통해 전환되고 확대되는 곳이다.

  • 사회화(Socialization)
  • 표출화(Externalization)
  • 연결화(Combination)
  • 내면화(Internalization)

3가지 요소들은 조직이 지속적이고 역동적으로 지식을 창출할 수 있도록 명확한 리더십하에서 통합되어야 한다. 그것은 조직 구성원들에게 하나의 규율이 되어야 한다.


SECI 모델

지식의 창출은 암묵지(暗默知, tacit knowledge)와 형식지(形式知,explicit knowledge)사이의 역동적인 상호과정의 지속적인 프로세스이다. 지식변환의 4가지 모드는 나선형의 지식창출과정에서 상호작용한다. 이러한 나선형의 과정은 조직의 수준까지 이르게되면 더 크게 확대되어 새로운 나선형의 지식창출을 발생시킨다.
바륨의 SECO 모형 4 종류
사회화. 대면적인 의사소통과 공유된 경험을 통해 암묵지를 공유. 예를 들면 도제시스템(apprenticeship).
표출화. 조합된 암묵지에 자리잡는 컨셉의 개발. 의사소통을 가능하게 한다.
연결화. 형식지의 다양한 요소를 연결 : 예를 들면 프로토타입의 구축.
내면화. 행동에 의한 학습과 밀접히 연결된 형식지는 개인의 지식기반(예:정신모델,mental model)의 일부가 되며 또한 조직의 자산이 된다.


Ba 지식창출 플랫폼

다소 어려운 개념인 Ba는 지식이 상호작용을 통하여 공유되고 창출되며 활용된다는 공유의 의미로 정의될 수 있다.


도표를 통해 다양한 형태의 Ba를 볼 수 있으며 각각의 Ba는 지식창출 프로세스에서 특정한 단계에 대한 배경을 제공한다.

일본의 편의점인 세븐일레븐을 예로 들면;

  • 발원: 각각의 매장에 해당하며 사람들과 고객들의 상호작용을 가능하게 해준다.
  • 의견교환: 각 지역의 종업원들의 암묵지는 서로 대화를 통해서 판매예측을 하는데 사용된다.
  • 체계화: 판매예측은 판매결과로 검증되고 각 지역의 매장에 피드백된다.
  • 실행: 이러한 정보를 활용하고 실제와 비교를 하며 종업원들은 각자의 기술과 예측능력을 개선한다.
     

지식 자산의 4개의 종류 지식자산

지식자산은 기업고유의 자원으로 기업의 가치창출에 필수불가결한 요소이다. 지식자산은 지식창출 프로세스에서 투입요소, 산출요소, 매개요인이 된다.


지식창출과 활용을 효과적으로 관리하기 위해서 기업은 지식자산의 현황(inventory)을 파악해야 한다. 목록화하는 것만으로는 충분치 않다 : 지식자산은 역동적이다 ; 새로운 지식자산은 기존의 지식자산으로부터 창출될 수 있다.

SECI 모델의 유래. 역사

Nonaka와 Takeuchi의 SECI 모델은 Polanyi의 암묵지와 형식지의 구분에 기초하고 있으며, 일본의 비즈니스 문화의 관점에서 지식창출과 관리에 대해 이해해주게 한다.


SECI 모델의 강점. 이점

  • 지식의 역동성과 지식창출을 평가.
  • 관련 프로세스의 관리모델 제공.

SECI 모델의 한계. 단점

  • SECI 모델은 암묵지에 의존비중이 높은 일본의 조직에 관한 연구를 기초로 한다. 보통 종업원들은 기업과 평생 함께 한다.
  • 개념의 선형성: 나선은 단계를 뛰어넘을 수 있는가? 시계반대 방향으로 움직일 수 있는가?
