无形资产检测器（IAM）是一种操作性很强的测量无形资产价值的方法， 也是一种以简单、直观的方式展示测量无形资产相关指标的表达格式。 无形资产测量指标的选择依据公司战略而定。 其形式与格式特别适用于拥有大量无形资产的公司。

无形资产检测器的运用

无形资产检测器能够与公司的管理信息系统集成。 根据瑞典“知识管理之父”、无形资产检测器的发明人Sveiby的建议，无形资产检测器的数据表不要超过一页纸。 重要的是，要对这些检测数值进行大量的说明、评论性工作。 指标的选择要有重点，不能多， 要能够有效覆盖以下几个领域：成长/更新、创新、效率以及稳定性。 其目的是对无形资产能够有一个更为全面的认识，所以每个类别下最好只分配1-2个指标。 那些能够揭示、反映变革的指标最受欢迎， 也就是反映企业成长、效率以及稳定性的指标。 无形资产检测器可以被设计成为企业管理信息系统的一部分，或用来执行内部审计功能。
