Der Human Capital-Index (HCI) ist eine Methodik von Watson Wyatt, die verwendet wird, um die Korrelation des Humankapitals und des Unternehmenswertes zu errechnen.

Watson Wyatt entwickelte einen Satz an Maßen, die quantitativ genau bestimmen, welche Human Resources Praktiken und Taktiken die größte Korrelation zum Unternehmenswert haben.

Das Verwenden dieser, um eine einzelne Human Capital-Index (HCI) „Punktzahl“ jeder befragten Firma zuzuweisen, erlaubt ihnen, abschließende Resultate zu liefern. Wo es überlegene Human Resources Praktiken gibt, gibt es höheren Unternehmenswert.

Mit anderen Worten: der Human Capital-Index zeigt, dass, wenn eine Organisation besser im Managing ihres Humankapitals ist, sie auch besser in ihren Ergebnissen für Aktionäre sein wird.

Human Capital-Index-Formel

Antworten werden mit objektiven finanziellen Maßen, einschließlich Marktwert, dreijährige und fünfjahrige Gesamterträge der Shareholder (TRS) und Tobin's Q, eine wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Kennzahl, die die Fähigkeit einer Organisation mißt, Wert über ihre Sachanlagen hinaus zu schaffen, abgestimmt. Öffentliche Daten aus den "Standard and Poor" Datenbanken werden verwendet, um Zugang zu den benötigten finanziellen Informationen zu erhalten.

Um das Verhältnis zwischen Humankapitalpraktiken und Wertschaffung zu erforschen, wurden eine Reihe multipler Regressionsanalysen durchgeführt, die anscheinend ein klares Verhältnis zwischen der Wirksamkeit von Humankapitalpraktiken einer Firma und der Schaffung von Unternehmenswert identifizieren. Dreißig Hauptpraktiken der Human Resources waren mit einer 30 prozentigen Zunahme des Marktwerts verbunden. Gesamt-HCI Auswertungen wurden für einzelne Organisationen geschaffen, damit Resultate auf einer Skala von 0 bis 100 ausgedrückt werden können. Eine HCI Auswertung von 0 stellt das schlechteste Humankapital-Management dar, während eine Auswertung von 100 ideal ist.
