Zusammenfassung

Offensichtlich hofft jedes Unternehmen „der Situation einer bedeutenden Geschäftsstörung, die umfangreiche Medienberichterstattung hervorruft" (Krise) nicht gegenüber zu stehen. Die öffentliche Untersuchung, die ein Resultat dieser Medienberichterstattung ist, beeinflußt häufig den normalen Betrieb der Firma und kann eine (negative) finanzielle, politische, rechtliche und staatliche Auswirkung haben. Erhebliche Wertzerstörung sollte gefürchtet werden, besonders wenn die Krise nicht gut in der Auffassung der Medien/der öffentlichen Meinung gehandhabt wird. Krisenmanagement beschäftigt sich mit dem Geben der richtigen Krisenreaktion (vorbeugend, strukturell und ad-hoc).


Einige generische Hilfe und Tipps zum Krisenmanagement

  1. Bereiten Sie Katastrophenpläne im voraus vor (Krisenmanagement-Team und Mitglieder können sehr kurzfristig gebildet werden, Einstudieren von Krisen der verschiedenen Arten)

  2. Sofort und verkünden Sie genau innerlich, dass die einzigen Personen, zum über die Krise mit der äußeren Welt zu sprechen die Krisenteam-Mitglieder sind)

  3. Bewegen Sie sich schnell (die ersten Stunden, nachdem die Krise ausgebrochen ist, sind extrem wichtig, da die Medien ihre Informationen häufig in den ersten Stunden sammeln)

  4. Verwenden Sie Krisenmanagement-Berater (objektiver Rat von PR Beratern ist wichtig, verwenden Sie die Unternehmensbild-Expertise von Spezialisten)

  5. Geben Sie genaue und korrekte Informationen (erinnern Sie sich daran, dass Versuche, die Inforamtionen zu manipulieren nach hinten losgehen werden, sobald dies entdeckt wird, auch intern!)

  6. Beim Beschließen von Taten, betrachten Sie nicht nur die kurzfristigen Verluste, sondern konzentrieren Sie auch auf die langfristigen Effekte.

Führungskräfte auf allen Ebenen der Organisation werden beschäftigt, um Krisen zu handhaben und tun dieses häufig auch auf einer täglichen Basis. Ihre Fähigkeiten werden wirklich geprüft, wenn sie bedeutende Krisen handhaben müssen, die das Potential haben den Wertschöpfungsprozess der Organisation, die Einkommensquellen, die Betriebskosten, den Aktienpreis, die Wettbewerbsposition und das fortwährende Geschäft zu stören. Vergleichen Sie: Charismatische Führung.
Das wirkungsvollste Krisenmanagement tritt auf, wenn mögliche Krisen schnell ermittelt und behandelt werden - bevor sie sich auf das Geschäft der Organisation auswirken können. In diesen Fällen erregen sie nie die Aufmerksamkeit der Haupt-Stakeholder der Organisation oder der allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit durch die Nachrichtenmedien.


Schaffen eines Geschäftsfortsetzungsplans

In den Fällen, in denen die Krise bereits ausgebrochen ist, oder es unvermeidbar ist, dass sich die Krise auf die Haupt-Stakeholder der Organisation auswirkt, ist ein Geschäftsfortsetzungsplan hilfreich, um die Störung und den Schaden zu minimieren. Das Entwickeln solch eines Planes kann wie eine erschreckende Aufgabe erscheinen, aber in Wirklichkeit ist es ein vernünftiges Dokument. Es bezieht das Identifizieren jener Funktionen und Prozesse ein, die für das Geschäft kritisch sind, und entwirft dann die operativen und kommunikativen Katastrophenpläne, um das mögliche Versagen von einem oder mehren von diesen zu handhaben und wie Haupt-Stakeholder reagieren, wenn sie es herausfinden. Ein wichtiges Element, das manchmal übersehen wird, ist das Testen des Geschäftsfortsetzungsplans.
Unternehmen mit Geschäftsfortsetzungsplänen werden in einer besseren Position sein, um die Geschäftsauswirkungen und den finanziellen Schaden zu minimieren. Zusätzlich kann es sein, dass Führungskräfte der Meinung sind, dass der Prozess der Planentwicklung einen indirekten Nutzen hat. Ihre Organisationen sind für mögliche Krisensituationen empfindlicher, die das Geschäft stören und die Betriebskosten, die Gewinne und das gesamte Wachstum beeinflussen könnten. Infolgedessen reagieren ihre Manager schneller und effektiver, um diese abzufangen.
