비즈니스 인텔리젼스는 무엇인가? 정의
BI는 자료의 수집, 저장, 분석, 제공을 위한 폭넓은 범위의 경영정보시스템, 어플리케이션, 기술을 활용하여 올바른 의사결정을 할 수 있게 하는데 목적이 있다. BI는 의사결정을 위해 적시의 정확한 정보를 사용한다.
일반적인 BI 활동
일반적으로 BI 활동은, 의사결정지원, 쿼리와 보고, 온라인분석처리, 통계분석, 예측과 데이터마이닝 등을 포함한다. BI는 기업이 성공할 수 있는 요인이 무엇인지 이해하고, 현재 의사결정이 미래에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 예측하는 데 도움을 주는 시스템을 말한다. BI 시스템은 기업의 전략 기획 프로세스에 핵심역할을 한다.

BI 소프트웨어는 매니저에게 필요한 정보를 효과적으로 제공하여, 올바른 의사결정을 할 수 있게 하며, 궁극적으로 이해관계자와 주주의 가치창출을 증가시킬 수 있게 해준다. BI시스템은 기업의 전략 기획 프로세스에 핵심적인 역할을 한다.
