El Business Intelligence (Inteligencia Empresarial) (BI) tiene como objetivo el tomar mejores decisiones económicas con la ayuda de la Gestión de Sistemas de Información, de sistemas y aplicaciones capaces de recolectar, almacenar, analizar, y proporcionar el acceso a los datos. El BI utiliza información oportuna y exacta para la toma de decisiones.
Actividades típicas del BI
Típicamente, las actividades del BI incluyen soporte decisional, consultas y reportes, procesamiento analítico en línea, análisis estadístico, pronósticos y data mining. El BI está representado por los sistemas que ayudan a las compañías a entender qué hace a la corporación acertada, y ayuda a predecir el impacto futuro de decisiones actuales. Estos sistemas desempeñan un papel dominante en el proceso de planeamiento estratégico de la corporación.
Aplicaciones típicas del Inteligencia Empresarial
Los sistemas típicos del BI son: determinación del perfil del cliente, análisis de la cartera comercial, sistemas contra el lavado de dinero, antifraude, análisis del contacto con clientes, segmentación de mercado, calificación crediticia, rentabilidad por producto, control de inventarios, así como ciertas aplicaciones relacionadas con el manejo de riesgos.
Software del Inteligencia Empresarial
El software del BI proporciona una mejor información para la gestión de los gerentes, les permite tomar mejors decisiones económicas, en última instancia, tienden a la creciente creación de valor del accionista y del stakeholder. Los sistemas de BI desempeñan un papel principal en el proceso de planeamiento estratégico de la corporación.
