제3자 물류관리란 무엇인가? 기술

제3자 물류관리(3PL)는 기업의 하나 또는 그 이상의 물류기능이 제3자에게 아웃소싱되는 공급망 관리의 사례이다. 일반적으로 아웃소싱되는 물류기능 : 클라이언트의 고객에게 외국으로 가는 운임의 본국행 운임, 관례 및 운임 강화, 공중에게 창고에 넣고는, 계약 창고에 넣고는, 순서 이행, 배급 및 관리.

위의 기능에 다음과 같은 부가가치 서비스가 제공될 수 있다. 재포장,조립 및 회수 물류. 3PL 공급자는 클라이언트 회사를 대신하여 자사의 자산 및 자원을 사용하여 이러한 특정한 물류 기능을 관리하고 수행한다.
 

이러한 배경은 기업이 기업의 틈새역역에 집중하고 운영비용을 감소하게 해주며 많은 자산을 소유하지 않고 유연성을 유지하며 경쟁력을 보유하기 위한 것이다. 제3자 물류관리는 또한 계약 물류관리(Contract Logistics)로도 불린다.

3PL은 일반적으로 거래에 기초한 것에서 본질적으로 전략적인 쪽으로 진화하고 있다. 동시에 3PL은 점차적으로 4PL로 진화하고 있다. 제4자 물류관리 공급자는 공급망 서비스 제공자로서 일반적으로 자사의 자산과 자원을 활용하는 것없이 고객을 위해 최고의 물류솔루션을 탐색한다. 총공급망관리 아웃소싱(Total Supply Chain Management Outsourcing)을 나타내는 5PL 또는 7PL 등의 비교적 새로운 용어도 있다.

제3자 물류관리의 유래. 역사

80년대에 세계화의 확대와 IT 사용의 증가가 있었다. 이러한 추세의 결과 기업이 좀 더 경쟁력있고 유연성있게 운영되어야 한다는 요구와 가능성이 증가되었다. 몇몇 성공한 3PL 회사는 DHL/Exel, Kuehne + Nagel, Schenker, UPS, Panalpina, C.H. Robinson 의 TNT Logistics, Schneider 및 NYK Logistics 등이다.

제3자 물류관리의 활용. 응용

• 폭넓고 복잡한 유통망을 가진 기업. 예 : IBM.
• 핵심역량의 하나로 물류에 집중하지 않는 기업. 예 : Chevron Corp 또는 British Petroleum.
• Core Competence[핵심역량]에 대한 전략 면담에서.
• 신제품 그룹을 새롭게 만들 경우.
• 기업이 인수기능을 통합하고 있을 때. Acquisition Integration Approaches[인수통합 접근법]를 비교하십시오

제3자 물류관리의 단계. 프로세스

3PL의 응용은 보통 다음과 같은 여러 단계로 행해진다 :

1. 인식(Awareness). 가능성을 조사하고십시오, 직원, SWOT 분석을 알리십시오.
2. 시장 조사. 시장 동향, 특히 서비스 수요를 조사한다. 참고: SERVQUAL[서브퀄, 서비스품질측정], Customer Satisfaction Model [고객만족모델] 및 Quality Function Deployment [QFD, 품질기능전개].
3. 전략. 물류 개념을 개발하고 비교한다.
4. 구매 또는 내부조달(Make or Buy). 자체역량을 구축하거나 아웃소싱한다. 완전히 또는 부분적으로 아웃소싱한다.
5. 사업 계획. 비용,혜택. 단계적 실행(Phasing). 타이밍. 리스크. 통신과 동기부여.
6. 선택(Selection). 시장 점유율(market coverage), 역량, 완전성, 비전 등을 기초로 파트너 선정.
7. 계약(Agreement). 특정한 성과측정 방법을 사용하여 상호간의 기대에 대한 계약.
8. 평가와 반복(Evaluation and Renewal). 상호적인 재무 비용 및 이익, 합동 계획, 다단계 접촉, 개방적인 정보 교환을 통해 파트너쉽 유지.

제3자 물류관리의 강점. 이점

3PL은 다음과 같은 것을 통해 경쟁우위를 획득하도록 해준다 :

• 허용은 그들의 핵심역량 개발에 집중하기 위하여 굳게 한다.
• 원가 경쟁력.
• 자원(자금난)의 해결.
• 뛰어난 고객 서비스 수준을 가능하게 해주는 전문화된 3PL 물류 공급자의 국제적인 유통망과 노하우로부터 얻는 혜택,

제3자 물류관리의 한계 단점과 위험

3PL를 성공적으로 실행하기 위해서는 몇몇 가능한 어려움을 명심할 필요가 있다:

• 물류 기능에 대한 통제 상실(특히 중요 부분).
• 고객과 더 멀어진다. 인간적 접촉의 상실.
• 3PL 공급자의 서비스의 불연속.
• 3PL 공급자의 서비스 수준의 인식 및 견해에 대한 차이.

제3자 물류관리의 가정. 조건

3 방법을 사용하는 기업은 다음과 같은 가능성을 가지고 있다고 추정할 수 있다 :

1. 핵심역량의 하나로 물류에 집중하지 않는 기업.
2. 아웃소싱 서비스의 필요성을 정당화할만큼 물류비용이 상당히 많은 중견기업.
