History of Zero Defects
Michael Young
The conceptual development of Zero Defects started the Quality Revolution of the 80's. In fact, quite a few of the quality programs today have their roots in the skunkworks at PCA. Take SixSigma for instance. Its forrunner was a product called QES (Quality Education System) developed at PCA. Today technology has turned the "concept" into an execution system that prevents errors, mistakes and omissions. As an example a major medical device company has not seen an error, omission, mistake or returned product due to a manufacturing oversight in over 4 years using this system.
