Value Stream Mapping in Cement Plants
Since 2 years I have had some experience of carrying out VSM in Cement Plants.
The Methodology for the VSM is defined by me, based on the type of Industry. The variable cost of cement manufacturing (per T-Cement) is considered as a single parameter to optimize. All operations, materials are analyzed on their contribution in variable cost. The improvement suggestions are weighed on their capability to impact variable cost.
The score card is a comparison of variable cost before VSM and after. Is this a good approach? Or can there be a more effective approach. Please advise...
