Just as in companies use business intelligence to improve their business performance or productivity, they can also improve their supply chain management processes through supply chain intelligence (SCI). SCI actually refers to business intelligence for supply chains. In other words, supply chain intelligence is the combination of information with intelligence so that the information obtained can be applied to improve one’s supply chain; it is the ability to access, integrate, analyze, and share supply chain information across and beyond the enterprise.
SCI provides insights into one’s supply chains dynamics, so that one can detect in which places in the supply chain the performance can be improved and in which ones the performance already is maximized.
In fact, there are four major ways or architectures in which supply chain intelligence can be achieved:
- The utilization of improved ERP PACKAGES THAT INCLUDE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE capabilities.
