Translation of All Forum Discussions

Is it possible to add a translation function to all management discussions on 12manage?
Doing so would be a great feature. It will allow non-native English people to easier understand the sometimes complex management topics and comments.

Translate Forum Topics

Thank you for your excellent idea. I am happy to announce the forum translation function you've requested.
From now on, both Basic and Premium members can translate any discussion. Thanks to Google — kudos to them! A good step in fulfilling our mission (exchanging knowledge about management globally).
If you like, you can try it out yourself on this page: At the top-right you see: "Select a language". Give it a try... 😢Note: doesn't work on phones.

Default Translation

Useful feature for 12manage! It's handy that once I selected my own language, it will keep translating other forum discussions to my language automatically.

Versions of English

@Soeb Fatehi: As you have seen, 12manage now uses Google to translate discussions. If Google supports the different versions of English, they will be available, just as the varieties in Dutch, Spanish, French etc.
Also consider that automated (Google and other) translations do an amazing job, but may not always give the real native translation a human translator would.

We should not be too demanding. Google does a wonderful job. If required, we should be prepared to excel on that basis.

Translate Forum Topics Manually

@Jaap de Jonge: Google translation helps a lot, but still fails to give exact phrase required in the translated language. I suggest a team of volunteers can be created to do the justice with the translated texts.
May be I can volunteer for translating into Hindi, if there are people who want and appreciate management topics in Hindi.

Manual Translation of Forum Topics is Impossible

@Manven: 👍 Thank you for your very kind offer.
However, perhaps few people realize how big the amount of shared knowledge in 12manage has become. It is so immense that it would take years to translate it even into one language like Hindi.
On top of that, the information is dynamic; improvements are made continuously and new ideas are being added each day.
That is why automatic translation is the only possible way.

The Inaccuracy in the Translation Process Might Pose a Problem

Hello everyone! Hope you're all well. Beforehand, I'd like to thank you for this wonderful initiative related to translate all the forum discussion.
However, the means to do so need to be accurate to prevent a mistranslation brings about a misunderstanding in the discussion process. I'm up for it, but here's what my concern is.

Translate Views

In the mean time we have also added the possibility to translate all "Views" from members.
Members can add "Views" about any management topic on their Personal page or via the top menu.
Log in first to use these functions.

Forum Translation on Phones Has Ended

We are sorry to inform you that we had to decide to disable the option to translate forum topics on smart phones. It was not working well. The layout of 12manage on phones is now more appealing and our top menu is easier to navigate.

This change does NOT affect:
- The translation function for forums on computers and tablets (remains available as before).
- The translation function for the summaries of all main management methods (continues to be available on ALL devices as before).

Translating Dictionary Terms

We have now also added the option to translate all dictionary term pages. This means all content pages of 12manage can now be translated.
A Basic membership or better suffices. This translation function is unfortunately only available on large screens (PC, iMac, tablet, iPad).
