Information versus Digitats
As James Gleick argues in his book 'The Information - A History, a Theory, a Flood'', one must consistently & consequently keep apart
- an original information about an object, a product copy, an event, a topic...
- representations of an original information in various formats, e.g. writing, word-wrapping, figures, drawing, written text message or spoken word message..
- digitised versions of such formatted information representations (= digitats), e.g. in the form of computer files or database rows that are generated and/or handled by means of software-based electronical digitisation systems, a.k.a. computer systems/IT systems
