What are the Disadvantages of Storytelling?
Benhoumeur, Algeria
In a turbulent world, characterized by uncertainty about the future, failures, stress, etc., storytelling as a management tool can, probably, bring about positive interactions between actors in a business setting.
No doubt, storytelling must have some limits also, which are they?

Disadvantages of Storytelling
Evelyn Aro-Esquejo, Manager, Philippines
I made considerable use of stories and anecdotes in evoking the desired reactions, emotions and commitment of my audience. It's a perfect way of getting the audience interested in one's talk - so I use them in the beginning, in the middle and/or end of my talk.
One lesson though is that the story may become too powerful and invite the audience in sharing their stories, until both speaker and audience fall into the trap of sacrificing precious time intended for more substantive discussions.
This situation is something trainers must watch out for if time is limited.

Story Telling
Isidore Chilando, Other, Soduth Africa
We all tell stories, and this is done in many ways. Crying, dancing, singing, talking and many other ways. You may see a hungry child crying, people singing, all that is story telling. The whole idea of story telling is communicating to people whatever needs to be.
