Mutual Commitment is the Basis of Management by Objectives
The idea of Peter Drucker on management by objectives is based on the integration of different hierarchical levels of the company. The common point is the commitment, responsibility and maturity. It is
to achieve the objectives through a common challenge and not by a simple imposition.
The
subordinate is involved in it because he wants the results are good and that his/her image may be favored.
The
manager is also involved in the project, not remaning in the level of giving orders, but proposes the "target", negotiate and persuade about what is expected of the employee and also says what will he or she do to achieve success.
