Reducing Risk in Agriculture

I'm no expert on agribusiness, but in order to reduce risks you must first identify them.
Go through every possible risk scenario and estimate how likely each risk event is.
Then identify and implement steps that can be taken to avert the most likely and/or most damaging risk events.

Risk of perishability of agro items.
Risk of natural calamities causing crop failure (leading to higher prices & supply problems.
Risk of farmers' inability to invest in agro implements / seed / fertilizers can lead to loss of business.
Insurance & derivatives can be considered for SRM.

Strategic Risk Management In Agro-Industrial Business

First of all, in my opinion, you must identify the risks. In the agro-industrial business, there are many, from the beginning until the payment of your sales.
They range from pests or diseases, to customers who do not pay the shipping, and all kinds of claims.
SRM is about the management of these risks, minimizing the impact they could cause on your company.
