Applying Six Sigma to Landscape Architecture
Dileep Lal G S, Member
How can Six Sigma be applied in Architecture practice? The deliverables being the project plan, the drawings and supervision. The accuracy of processes and thus the defects can not be precisely defined. Does it mean that Six Sigma is not applicable to certain business practices?

Six Sigma in Projects? No

Dileep, in my opinion, it is not whether Six Sigma (SS) is applicable to LA or not, it is more that SS is applicable to operations (such as manufacturing or service operations), but not to projects.
Sorry if this is already understood by you, but while in operations you're dealing with ongoing repeatable tasks, a project has an end (in simple terms).
The LA work you describe is a project. To measure the quality of a project (and its management), I suggest you use the QMS applicable to your project methodology (e.g., PRINCE2).
