The Distinction Between Organizational Culture and Organizational Climate

People tend to view these two concepts as the same and use them interchangeably. I believe that there is a difference between both. Could anyone please make a distinction between them?

Organizational Climate ≠ Culture

The two are NOT the same even though a number of people believe they are synonymous. There are distinctions between the culture of an organization and the climate:
- Climate is the attitude, while
- Culture is the personality.
In fact, it is the culture of the organization that drives the climate.

How Culture is Different from Climate

In my opinion, climate is a sensation; how people (employees) feel the relationships. Culture is the mechanisms or customs used to do the work.
The first is based on feelings, the second is the result of necesity and business of the organization.

Organizational Culture is One of the Factors that Influence the Organizational Climate

Organizational culture is the set of behavioral rules that the organization imposes on its individuals, while the organizational environment is the formal and informal relations within the organization that are affected by the culture of the organization on the one hand and the personal culture on the other.
