Difference Between CSFs and Balanced Scorecard

Balanced Scorecard is a model that enhances strategic focus and objectives for performance. CSFs like KPIs are measures for measuring the performance.

Critical Success Factors vs BSC

BSC tries to put a balanced distribution of emphasis on critical success factors across 4 key perspectives - financial, customer, business process and learning & growth. How well this is done depends on the guidance of the consultant and the organization's own learning process. In none-BSC companies, they may have other ways to achieve business objectives like the way Malaysian govt uses KRA Key Result Area's to set KPIs. They are making big improvements in this areas. However, I still feel a better deployment should be through Hoshin Kanri.
