Why Action Learning? Purpose

Many "study groups" result in heightened awareness and increased knowledge but often stop there. In my work with action learning teams (mostly corporate based) the key purpose is getting increased or better RESULTS. Leveraging and combining:
- The power of structured questioning,
- The power of peer to peer accountability, and
- Experiential learning
can make this happen. In my experience this is highly structured and facilitated.

Why Action Learning? Purpose

Diane, I agree the purpose has to be increased/better results.
The benefits of addressing an issue through action learning can result in a high ROI, and especially if it becomes a standard practice (approach) to problem situation.
In a corporate environment there is little time to put operations on hold to solve an issue. Action learning is especially appropriate for this type of problem solving.
As with any method, correct implementation is key. The organization's members must buy into the method, and facilitate the process.
