1. Organisations and people in organisations should be adaptive.
2. Proper planning and good execution can smoothen the change process.
3. Emotional intelligence plays a key role in managing change.
4. Focusing on the positive outcome as a result of change is important.

Positive Outcome as a Result of Change!!

The 4th point is excellent. Look at the Lokpall Bill to curb anti-corruption in India. Here the focus by the government is not positive on the outcome but rather an arm twisting political approach. As a manager of democracy in India, the government is failing to adapt to the needs of the citizen. No proper planning, no execution. Emotions are sky high but on a negative direction.


Driving Change

Point 1 is also important. In managing change, adaptability of people and proper planning to execute change is an integral part of change management.
Also I feel change shall evolve from a lot of communication across the organization.
