Definition of Personnel Management

It's a field of management which has to do with planning, organizing and controlling various operative functions to attend objectives of company, personnel and community at the highest possibility.
It's a significant part of management concerned with employees at work and with their relationship within the organisation to obtaining, maintaining and using a satisfied workforce.
It's usually based on a human orientation and manages both white and blue collar employees.
It has four "sub-domains":
1. Human Resource Management, the domain of the HR Manager (manpower planning, compensation package, training, appraisal, organizational development, personnel records)
2. Industrial/Employee Relations, here we see the fire fighter (statutory compliance, negotiation, labour laws, court proceeds, discipline, time office)
3. Employee Welfare, the domain of the care taker (canteen, hospital, transportation, schemes)
4. Administration, the domain of the administrator (establishment, housing colony, security).
