Performance Appraisals are not Fair

I don't believe in performance appraisals. Because it is not fair system for employees due to it's such a very complicated system. Just look at how many common errors are made in performance appraisals.

Nothing is Fair...

I see PA as a platform for one to discuss with the boss what's the expectation and what's ahead in the career path for the employee. It is not just about getting big jumps in increment, bonus or promotion.
There is still the normal distribution curve that most organizations would employ and recognition of exceptional individuals for the year.
So fairness is also a perception and perspective - it depends on which side or angle one is seeing!
