In my opinion, performance appraisal should be done at the small units (branches), especially in large corporations. In such organizations, employees are often required to perform many extra tasks which do not fall in their primary line of duties.
But when it comes to the PA, it is often done at the head office, and the organizations narrows down on the primary targets. As a result many employees are receiving unfair scores.
In my opinion, in such organizations, the appraisal should be left to the unit managers. By doing this, the level of subjectivity would be minimized....Sign up
