Imbalance Others Than Pareto

Just a starter for this, measuring the imbalance. One of them is the Gini factor (same start for the topic income/wealth as Pareto)
10/90 gap, 1% culture Benfords law etc.
It goes with ROC (Relative Operating Characteristic). These are highly mathematical concepts.
The first question to answer: are these kind of mathematical concepts acceptable to discuss for a manager?
The easy of thumb-rules like Pareto are far more accepted although not necessarily correct for the situation.
