Taking Care of your Outer and Inner Self
Summary: Do you want to live a blissful life? Build up your inner consciousness effectively.
OUR CARE FOR OUR OUTER SELF
I was watching some advertisements on the TV and realized that so many of them appear that concern body care. Specifically females are addressed. They seem so cautious about their looks. The advertisements show remedies like the use of various creams that would make us fair within 3 months, use of shampoos that will make our hair healthy and soft, and using some products which will remove wrinkles, it will make us look charming, gorgeous etc...
Do we really think that these products will solve our outer problems? May be they might turn out to be useful. Slowly, slowly we start believing and applying these products on our outer body. We might actually get relieved from our problem.
Yes, we think about health, food, and excise. Nowadays we are so alert about our food and avoid fast food. We are truly very cautious about ourself and our family.
OUR CARE FOR INNER SELF
But what about our internal problem? Have we ever thought about our inner self? Are we also taking care adequately of our inside body? Are we putting sufficient efforts to eliminate inner garbage, trash? When we think deeper, we realize that not only our external body requires treatment, but it is also important to look after our inner self and understand ourself. We have to be aware of our inner self. How will that happen? How will we be able to achieve this consciousness? What is my personality, mind, character, my thinking? How are we reacting to our thoughts?
We can observe our behavior. Generally we are experts in giving comments on others' behavior or action. For example, two people may have a discussion on some hot topic. The discussion starts with exchanging arguments but finally it ends up in a fight. One person even gets injured. We as audience make common comments on the persons such as he is so awful, arrogant, and egoistic. Such judgements are made about us as well. What was our reaction? Perhaps we behaved in the same manner as well…
We have to observe our reaction and reflect on our behavior. We can visualize our action. If it is not correct, we have to correct it next time.
Through this exercise we can build up our consciousness more effectively. We can slowly learn how to avoid anger, ego, weeping. When we overcome our obstacles, we are living a blissful life.
