How do You Keep Organizational Charts Current?

Organization charts are most commonly out-of-date because they are such a fuss to prepare and update. The majority of organizations are using PowerPoint, which creates attractive charts for smaller organizations. Templates are available that can speed the process.
When a (larger) organization decides to eliminate the clerical/manual effort and automate the creation and updating of the organization charts they can use a tool such as Orgchart Pro.

	Organizational Software When an employee is hired, payroll should ensure the employee's data is entered into the appropriate corporate systems that tracks organizational information. PeopleSoft and SAP are two systems used by organizations to track their organizational structures. Human Resources staff should ensure the appropriate data is submitted to payroll. This latter data would include changes in employee, compensation and position data. The organizational structure should also include the position's reporting relationship and may also include links to qualifications, job roles, performance reviews, competencies, etc. In my experience, organizations do not always track compensation and job evaluation data properly.
