Why Understanding Personality Types is Second to None

Having recently participated in some personality type exercises it has become glaringly obvious to me how much this shapes every interaction we have in the workplace.
Every interaction you have with your staff, your colleagues, your customers, your competitors, industry experts, etc is shaped by the personality types of the people present.
This is a simple fact and yet it is one many people don't understand. If people took a little bit of time to most importantly understand their own personality type, and how they react to situations because of this, they would be half way there. Once you understand your own personality type you're halfway to understanding how to approach interactions with other people.
If you then spend a small amount of time analyzing the other personality types you interact with you have reached the point where you have far more control over the interactions you have and you are more likely to achieve your own goals, whether it be with your staff, your colleagues, your customers, or anyone.
There are many tools you can use to do this, one that is readily available and highly regarded is the Myers Briggs test. Additionally you can try DISC types and numerous others.
So do some work, find a personality type test that you think looks good and do it. Maybe conduct one for your entire office, it will be a real eye opener for staff and the way you interact in the workplace will improve dramatically.
Ultimately this applies to your life out of the office too.
