Why are There So Many Schools in Strategic Management?

The Many Strategy Schools Give New Ideas

No, I don't think the difference in views cause confusion at work. On the contrary, it is possible they give new ideas if these opinions are presented in a positive way.

The Strategic Management Schools are not Confusing; the Situation Is

No, I don't think so either. Strategy is what you do to align your organization to the outside world and to your strategic goals. There are always many stakeholders with various interests. Because of this, creating a strategy is always difficult and complex. In complex circumstances / situations, there is not one single answer nor action that is 100% correct. There is not even one correct way to even think about the situation at hand.

That is where the value of the strategic schools lies. They are not making things more complex than they are, and they are also not confusing. The situation itself is complex and confusing. The schools help you to understand that and enable you to view the situation from different angles.
